Template for refusing payment until Thames Water is returned to Public Ownership.

Dear Thames Water,

The Environment Select Committee has not only revealed that Thames Water chairman, Adrian Montague, has lied to Parliament but also how very close to collapse the company is.  This is even more the case since KKR pulled out of their bailout bid a few days later and the Independent Water Commission’s interim report in June has concluded that regulation is not working. That has been followed by Montague admitting in September to Thames spending £7.5million on engaging lawyers to reduce its liabilities for regulatory breaches. It is now impossible to have any confidence whatsoever in Thames Water.

I am no longer prepared to accept blatant exploitation by Thames Water as it is currently structured and I am no longer willing to aid and abet the criminal level of ecological harm for which Thames bosses are responsible by paying into their coffers. Further I cannot, in all consciousness, pay the soaring bills Thames issues when I know my money is used to cover the cost of illegal pay-outs to shareholders, fines for making these pay-outs, and legal fees a month on legal advisors and accountants to help you avoid regulation.

Please be advised that I shall now be withholding payment until this government takes Thames into Special Administration which is the only valid action in the face of the companies costly and dangerous failures.
