Dear Sir/Madam
With so much information in the press about Thames Water’s failures which remain unresolved in spite of new legislation I have become concerned that my bills are inaccurate and misleading. I am particularly concerned that by not paying the fines imposed by Ofwat for excess sewage spills and for unwarranted payment of dividends you may, in effect, be taking my money deceptively.
Please clarify why whether my bills include the shareholder overpayments for which you are being fined and the costs of the fines you are negotiating not to pay.
I look forward to your response so that I can be confident that what I am paying to access the basic necessity of water is correct and legitimate
I would note that while my query about my bill is outstanding, you should not pursue me for payment. I will assume therefor that my account will be on hold until I receive a satisfactory answer to my query.
Yours sincerely,
YOUR NAME, CUSTOMER NUMBER AND ADDRESS
