Demand Thames Water bail out is blocked
Supporters of Boycott Thames Water will be joining the action organised by We Own It at the Royal Courts of Justice next Tuesday.
The protest is taking place at the beginning of the hearing being held to consider whether heavily indebted Thames Water can take out a further £3 billion loan.
It is estimated by We Own It that if the deal is signed off each household will have to pay a further £250 for their water bills. It is a tax in all but name to pay for the greed and failure of Thames Water. And it will do nothing to end the scandal of illegal sewage discharges.
Tuesday’s event is a follow up to We Own It’s action outside the Environment Agency on Monday 9 December. That action dramatically drew attention to this shameful deal, and achieved prominent coverage on the BBC and other media.
